Mangla aarti is important because it is the first prayer of the morning. It happens during Brahma muhurta, about 1.5 hours before sunrise, which is considered a very peaceful and auspicious time. At this time, nature and our mind are waking up from rest. So, starting the day by praying and remembering God during Mangla aarti is very beneficial and brings positive energy for the whole day.
The Sapta Rishi Aarti is a very old ritual, over 750 years old. In this ceremony, seven priests from different families (Gotras) perform the Aarti together. It is believed that every evening, the seven great sages (Saptarishis) come to worship the deity. That is why this Aarti is held daily at 7 pm.
Every evening, the Shringar Bhog Aarti is performed at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. It is the fourth Aarti of the day, after the Sapta Rishi Aarti.
